I’m probably going to head to Maine at the end of the month and fish for some brookies. I live in the Adirondacks and big brookies in ponds are my personal passion. I fished my 100th Adirondack brook trout pond this last fall and sadly doubt that I’ll live long enough to make it to 200.

Anyone have any experience with small ponds brook trout fishing in Maine? I’m looking at the Jackman area because I hunted deer there last fall. I have a couple recommendations from a friend in the area so do have a starting point. I’ll also do some stream fishing for them as well but would like to focus on trying to break the 20” mark in a pond. I’ve been stuck at the 19” mark in the Adirondacks so far.

I understand how fragile these fisheries are and have no need to kill fish. If you’d like to PM me, I’d appreciate it. I will also honor any information given in confidence and will mot spot burn.

Thanks.

Frank
