Here's my opening day pronghorn antelope, the best one I could find after looking over many bucks. At 3:30 pm I came across two bucks with a doe, with no interest in my presence whatsoever. All morning, everything was very spooky, but as often happens, by mid afternoon to evening things get calmer. I used my Bergara Mountain 2.0 rifle, shooting 143 gr. ELD-X bullets. Range was 308 yards. The Hornady bullets definitely get the job done, but with a bit more bloodshot meat and destruction than I care for. Think I will use the Barnes LRX bullets in the future, for everything.

Got the buck gutted, skinned, quartered, and on ice while still in the field, then got him cut up, packaged, and in the freezer this morning.

At 77 YO, being still able to successfully hunt on my own, and take care of my own game, is something that makes me feel very lucky!
