Is there an industry standard for measuring eye relief?
Mule Deer did a great post on measuring ER. He shined a light thru the objective, took a piece of paper and held it out from the ocular until it focused. He measured distance from the ocular to the paper.

Now, I imagine those optical engineers measure from the glass, not the edge of the ocular. BUT, it's that metal ocular rim that cuts your eyebrow, not the glass....

So, can't answer about an "industry standard" of measuring ER. Someone may chime in.
