I have had problems seating poly coated bullets without scraping off the coating. Even if I chamfer the case mouth, and use a typical bell on the case like I would do on a plated or jacketed bullet it sill scrapes coating off and some lead. So I put a little more bell on the case. When the belled case enters the die the bell comes into contact with the die wall and crimps down just enough so the case scrapes the coating. Of course I tried backing the die out and the seating stem in to no avail. The issue is the die ID is .423ā€ and the OD of the belled case is .428ā€.
So, long story short, for now Iā€™m using a .45 ACP die to seat the bullet. This seems to work well, the finished crimped bullet fits in my LE Wilson go-no-go gauge and chambers fine.
