The Hornady 150 RN and 170 FP are great deer bullets and very consistent.
My M94 Winchester is "average" in accuracy with a typical .30-30 bullet, either 150 or 170 grain, but the Hornady 170 FP with 3031, accuracy moves into the "damn good" level. I have used that particular load to kill numerous deer.
