I just ordered a 48" long 1 1/2" diameter .50 caliber round barrel with a 1:66 twist from Rice. I'll be building my own underhammer percussion action from a piece of 1.5" round bar with about a 15 degree bend in the middle. The stock and barrel will be attached to the receiver with set screws when I'm at a shoot. The whole works will be rust browned once the metal butchery is done. "Plum Brown" is one of the few good products Birchwood Casey makes. I'll make a felt lined walnut case for the pieces when they're not in use.
