Hard to believe that at the modest velocity of a Sheridan that polymer tip would expand that lead pellet much. Back in our youth, a buddy and I shot thousands of the original Sheridan pellets from the cans then the yellow plastic cartons before we knew there was anything better. We fed the cat for lots of years breast of blackbird with those old Sheridan Blue and Silver Streaks. We could never get any expansion from those pellets and birds and rabbits went down, but flopped around some. Then I discovered the Beeman Crow Magnum pellets and what a difference those made with DRT results. That flat wide hollow point meplat seemed to make all the difference. Probably terrible ballistic coefficient if there is such a thing from an air rifle, but they sure grew up my own Silver Streak at the modest ranges where I shot them.
