Some of you guys have really got me to thinking about the dangers of the UN and the potential for a military enforced disarmament of the American populace.
After declaring them illegal to own, how do you suppose government/UN troops would go about sweeping the nation for small arms? If they concentrate forces in one area at a time, would they not be flanked if not completely surrounded by "prone varminters" wherever they may go.
I do not envision a front line to front line confrontation with enemy forces. As some here have already accurately pointed out, that would be disastrous for us untrained couch potatoes.
I don't think that major cities would be an objective, either. Enemy forces would already know that only a few firearms would be found there, and certainly very few "constitutionalists."
My guess is that a major operation to disarm Americans would take place in a very clandestine but simultaneous manner, targeting rural areas where the largest concentration of small arms were known to be. They would use current database information to see who has what (or is likely to have what) and who has the mindset (us gun nuts, you know) to be a problem for them. Individuals meeting the predetermined criteria would be at the top of the list to disarm.
I don't want to alarm anyone (most of you already know this) but these words we type here are certainly being read by government officials. It's all in the name of national security, and maybe to some degree, understandable. (I didn't say acceptable, I said understandable...)
Anyway, I wanted to get some feedback on how you guys think such a military takeover might be conducted. It would not fit the tactical model of anything that has been done anywhere before, all things considered.

Perhaps those who have posted at this forum their sentiments that we could never overcome such a military assault on our Constitution are the wiser. If I'm correct in assuming that our words are more ubiquitous than we wish they were (read FBI database), then it may be prudent to be counted among the "conformists."
Thanks for the read,
Wizard
