I got a custom sako in 270 wby when i was a teen, and lord onley knows how many rounds i shot and critters succum to the gun, bein a teen and all, any leagal animal was in trouble.
I put her in the back of the closet and forgot her for alot of years, the new 30-378 got the lime light along with the whelen and various others.
in 2004 i drew a good elk tag in idaho, and for old times sake i dusted off the 270 wby. i took a huge bodied 300 class 6x6 on that hunt, he was bedded and never got up, just put his head back and rolled over. could not ask for more in a round, i was shooting a 140 gr tbbc. btw, that wasnt the first bull that that rifle had done in. elk rifle? I say yes.
