I'm not Catholic and I'm not covering for the extreme evil done by some very corrupt popes. My main point is that just calling yourself a Christian doesn't make you one. Christian churches worldwide seat millions every Sunday who are not saved even though they think they are, and that includes Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, and all the rest.
No Christian would have participated in the Inquisition. It was one of the most evil periods in church history and you can be confidant that those who participated are sorely regretting it now, and will be eternally.
The state's involvement in the Inquisition escalated the atrocities to unbelievable levels in Spain. The Spanish demonstrated the depths of depravity to which man can fall when they let Satan get involved in their religion.
