Other than a couple of inexpensive Tasco scopes that were mistakes for my 10-22's, I have always used Leupold VX1-vx111 on my hunting rifles. I used to shoot competition running deer and have a good ability to find my target in a 9X setting, and use the 3-4x for early-late light conditions only.

Now I need a combo scope for both squirrels ( 16x or so max) with a 4x or so minimum range for deer/ coyote hunting, and it's time to venture away from Leupold. I see Mueller has some with side focus, but fail to find much feedback on their product.

Thanks for any suggestions, or other scopes in the sub $300 range that would fill my needs.
