There's really no argument from me as to what you are saying today; it's just that my experience with the Whelen has shown me that what I expect from it is not the same as what someone else may expect from it.
Like most people, and yourself, most of my shots at elk and deer have been under 200 yards. I'm just set up and prepared to hit at longer range with my Whelen than some people are. Because of that, I just couldn't let your original post slide by, without saying something.
