Ol_Mike: One sees numerous flat backed canoes with smallish outboards running Oregon's Rogue. Being light and narrow, they don't need a lot of horses to shoot right up through the tightest of spots in the rapids, and if one is careful with his prop he can run pretty skinny water.

One typically sees two people (operator and a passenger up front) or a lone fisherman and a big rock in the bow to level the boat. Without a rock the operator and motor in the back tend to get the bow way too high. I don't have one of those setups, but if I lived down there I would. A great way to run up or down stream and access a bunch of water in a hurry. Easy for one person to handle by himself too, and not real big fuel consumers. Stay dry, 1Minute
