All .25-20 "Savage Sporters" (which is what this is) and 23Bs (later model with different action and magazine) are .25-20 WCF, unless some yahoo rechambered them to .25-20SS, which requires some extra work and makes them into a single shot since the SS round is too long to work in either the Sporter or the 23. Can't imagine why anyone would do that, but someone probably did, back in the day....
