They're pretty old. My first dies and press were from R. F. Wells in about 1951 or so. Believe they were some place in Minnesota and sold principally mail order. The castings for the presses were identical to the Herter presses popular about that time and also located in the same area. There were a couple grades of those dies and they worked fine. I believe the premium grade was called a Bystrom. I still have a couple of them but don't recall why I quit using them. Guess I wanted something I thought was a little better and at the time I didn't know what was "better", maybe just "prettier".
