Had pretty much varying results on this issue, but not much approaching the loss of velocity some would have you believe.
My best present example is a Rem. M7 in 22-250 with a 20 inch Bbl..
Clocking a 53 gr. TSX @3573fps....
Not too bad...least wise the deer don't notice....
