I bought a 97D for my son when he was born in 6.5 BRM. Fireformed with bulk 120gr Rem @ 2400 and worked up a huntin load with 100gr X's at 2700 (in a 20 inch barrel). Very accurate little rifle and the (old orginal) X bullets were death on whitetails and pigs. I bet 2500fps with 140's in a 24' barrel would be doable though a bit more recoil than I wanted for a 6 year old
