I tested a bunch of .224 bullets in 2009 and 2010 into dry phonebooks at 100 yards. 65 gk performed similar to 63 gr sierra, 70 grain speer, 55 grain hornady sp. 60 grain hornady sp was better than them all and 64 grain powerpoint was even better than that. The 60 grain partition was a bit better than the pp but both had about 20 % less penetration than the 53 gr TSX. This was from a 1/14 twist 22250 at mv of 3300 fps. Did not measure retained wt, just how deep the hole was. Of course, deer are not made of phone books but dry phonebooks put some stress on bullets and was neat to compare performance.
