John, thanks for the pics and description of the markings. Good looking rifle. Glad you have a Colton unit; guessed it wrong, I did. I can not recall specifically how long into the 89 BGR production that the change from Clackamas markings occurred but it was cool for the hometown guys and Mr Warne came around and showed us the first finished rifle with the Colton engraving. I think you are right about the integral scope base just on the Super America and not the Deluxe grade, which had no cheekpiece. I have seen a few pics showing 89 BGRs that do say SuperAmerica on the receiver.

Oh, I recall we made a nice rifle with fine upgraded wood for Major General Chuck Yeager,seems I got to mount the hardware at least but they wouldn't let me machine sand it! He had a few Kimber of Oregons...
