Will a 'monte carlo' stock for a tang safety (post-mill) give a drop-in fit for a '59 99 Featherweight action?

I am putting a scope on my 1959 manufacture 99F. I have to raise my head a bit to line up with a scope when one is mounted on this rifle. I'm not fond of the lace on cheek pieces.

The stocks on pre-mil rifles have a drop at comb designed for low mounted iron sights. Post-mil stocks are designed with a higher comb to better line up with a scope, maybe 1/2" higher, (hence the high mounted iron sights.)

Anybody easily put a post-mil stock on a pre-mil action?
