I asked a Leupold guy about the weight, and he said it is due to the 22 lens elements inside that big brown body. They wanted outstanding optical quality above all, even at the price of some extra ounces. As for the Bear Claws, I am shooting the 140s, and it's not the group sizes that bother me so much as the erratic behavior of the wretched things. I think I will hammer them into bass lures and get a bunch of A-Frames. Who needs this?
