From what I can tell, yes. I haven't had the two side by side but from what I remember of the Nikon 82 the peformance seems very, very similar. That picture was with 1.25 inch Celestron X-cel eyepiece and an astro eyepiece adapter.

I would agree. The Saker is an excellent scope, especially for that price, as well.

I should have clarified. That was my first attempt at semi-serious digiscoping with the Theron Mag82. I have tinkered with digiscoping for 5 or 6 years now...with a variety of scope and eyepiece combinations. In my case the limiting factor is the camera. A factor I hope to remedy soon. Thank you for the kind words.
