Looked at a Marlin 39A Mountie made in 1957 today. Asking price was $525.00

Beautiful gun, perfect shape, shiny stock, no dings, but something bothered me about it.

The barrel band, lever, hammer, trigger, bolt, and takedown screw were all chrome-plated/shiny silver.

I've never seen that before on a Marlin 39A. Typically all I've seen are blued.

Is that normal, or did somebody pimp this thing out at some point through the years?
