epcur, that's a good point. We've talked about that very thing in our small bear/boar hunting circle. I still favor the 300 grainers as an all around bullet, but in the heat of a dog fight I think overpenetration is an issue to consider. Also, quicker expansion WITH good penetration and bullet integrity might end that fight just a little quicker.
I've had a little experience with the 265 grain on deer and it performed well. I've also loaded and tested some Speer 270 grainers and liked how they shot. I'm thinking that weight range might be the ticket for bears and hogs.
