Looked it over some more and realized that the gouges were from assemble. The spring does not travel as far as I thought it did. There must be some type of clip in the collar on the front of the screw. Figure it is a C clip of some sort and the the two ends made the gouges. Cannot tell if the gouges would of been able to make contact with the inside of the bolt body or not. Either way I a feel better that it is polished and clean.
