I'm planning a custom light weight Mauser small ring build in 6.5 Creedmoor and have a nice clean non-matching 1917 Kar98 Erfurt action to use. I know the Erfurt bolt is the same as any '98 large ring bolt. But, I'm not sure about the bottom metal. If possible, I would like to use a 1909 Argentine Mauser bottom end inclding the integrated magazine. Will this fit with little or no major machine work? The distance between the bolt holes is the same as the LR at 7 7/8".
