Today's entry for the last day of June. It's been one heck of a month for Stripers.
We got out at first light and didn't go too far for bait. There were schools of Bunker, (pogies,menhaden, depending where you're from) as far as you can see.
You toss a weighted treble hook into the school and snag your bait as they go thru. Had about 15 baits in 10 mins.
Again, haven't seen this many schools for this long since the 70's.

Flat as anything once again and pretty hot with lack of a sea breeze. We managed a half dozen or so bass, all cookie cutter size. Those red spots are from some sort of parasite. We call em "Sea-Lice". This fish had a lot of them.
This was caught live lining a bunker. Had to get thru a lot of toothy bluefish to get to the bass today.
