Don't forget to check your State's hunting regulations since there may be a requirement of ft/lbs of muzzle energy or a minimum caliber for big game hunting.
It's it legal to use the 223 Remington, Federal ammo sells a 223 loaded with a 60 grain Nosler Partition bullet. That what I would use.
