I used a fine 16-gauge double yesterday hunting in an all-day rain. I had to set it in the mud a number of times for the usual dead bird and dog handling tasks, but I just wiped the metal on my pant legs and carried on.
Actually I could never do that - the abused gun was a Benelli.
