'Nother Mauser I've longed for but never fired, is a pre-war Kurz. The original "light" rifle, with
no question as to quality, strength, or function. Most were turned into high end customs, and sell for BIG money nowdays. I've handled several, two of which were customized here, in the US, back in the late-twenties, or early thirties. Simply amazing craftsmanship. I'm talkin' a bolt so smooth in it's working, it's as if the rifle were on auto-run. Wood with fit, finish, and checkering that just says "LOOK", and engraving that stirs the selfishness of anyone who sees it.
You want "best" - the Kurz is my entry.
