Are pre 64 Model 70's running in your neck of the woods? Specifically an original .264 standard in 92-97%? I saw one in my local Cabelas the other day that was a REBUILD. S/N put it in 1953 (no 264's made then) with a refinished stock and a different barrel. $1999 was the sticker.

The rebuild is not worth anywhere near that money....the action is a 30/06-length with bolt face opened to magnum.There were no standard length magnum actions from the factory at that point(unless the 458 ws around;cant remember the date the 458 was introduced)and I doubt anyone tore up a 458 Super Grade to rebarrel to 264.

Possible of course but unlikely....




The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.
