Well I drew an archery Ibex hunt and it starts today. I won't be able to make it out until the end of the week but am very excited.
The NMDGF decided to do a depredation hunt this end of the coming season so it sounds like there are a ton of goats on the mountain.
My current plan is to get down there and do some glassing from the ground to get a fix on the herd and that kind of thing.
Once I can ID a good location I'll head back to the room and start my map recon and google earth scouting for a route to get in the proximity of them. After that my son and I will set off with food, water, sleeping bags a tent and my Diamond Deadeye and either hunt till we get us a billy or until the season ends.
Any advice from past hunters; especially archery is much appreciated.
