Anybody used Talon Air out of Soldotna for fishing flight or bear viewing? They use boats on Cresent Lake, I believe.

If you rent an RV there will be lots of places to pull off the road for the night, specially as follows: across the Denali Highway to the Paxon Lodge, up the Richardson to Delta Junction. Keep in mind that from the Paxon Lodge up the Delta Junction you will have numerous areas you can pull off the road to look around. This is a very scenery area where you may also see wildlife by the road (caribou, or maybe moose). Summit Lake is a gorgeous area, too. Another road that is quite scenery in the Denali Highway.

In late August you may be able to see the Auroras, specially near Summit Lake, but after 10:00 PM when it's darker. However, much easier to see by mid September.
