Price goes much higher than quality. That was not a good era for Winchester. Many problems are frequent with that group including scope mount holes not drilled correctly, poor accuracy, poor barrels, etc.

I suppose if one wanted a lefty stainless, you could end up with a donor action in the worst case for a project gun, but don't expect good accuracy or quality just buying one out of the blue. MRC would be the way to go.

Only speaking from experience. Had a stainless 338. Had to use windage adjustable bases, cause the holes were so damn crooked. Got the accuracy to about 2.5" at 100 with some work and restocking. Only reason I wish I would have held on to it, is for the overinflating values by folks that don't know better.
