I had a Marlin 1895 XLR shortened from 24" to 17"

It already had a short mag tube, so just the barrel was cut down.

Also had to D&T to re-install the front sight.

Now have A GREAT, fast handeling 45-70 "brush gun"

Am thinking cost was $75. "local smith"

Also had a Navy Arms 92-20" barrel .45 Colt, cut down to 16.5", tube and barrel. am thinking this one was $125. Same 'smith

Trappers are my favorite lever guns.
