And lastly pick a different mag range for the scope. 10x on high end is ample glass for a 7-08. There is a 3-9x42 im quite fond of for that particular application. But to each his own.
I guess your 7-08 doesn't shoot well enough for any more glass than 10x. Try banging moa steel at 1300+ yards with your 3-9 and let me know how it works... Oh and to the OP- the Conquest 4.5-14 with target turrets is 50mm objective, not the 44. If you are building a do everything rifle, the Zeiss you have in mind will do nicely for hunting and bench work.
