In my opinion, its all about the chase. A lot of whitetail hunting is treestand ambush, but with a bow you often see them just outside of range.

My favorite part of whitetail hunt was passing the young bucks and grunting animals in knowing I could have won the chase. But if you get one on a cam and hunt it for two years and finally track him down.....thats the real trophy, not matter what the size. When I was a teenager I hunted a one horn, old spike for 3 years trying to stop his genetics and my brother finally got him with a rifle. He was a smart dink. We still talk about it at camp.
