The Husky 1600 action is one of the best of the 98 type actions. A number of improvements on the standard 98, plus small ring, good trigger which is easily polished and worked, good side safety. The 1600 had the 20" barrel, the 1640 had the 22" barrel. The 1600 was the original lightweight hunting rifle, long before all the modern lightweights. An 8x57 rechambered to 8/06 in the original Husky stock would be an excellent, quality, hunting rifle.
