I recall reading that NULA actions are used by some ballistics labs, and have had many, many overpressure rounds fired through them.

So I don't think strength is an issue with the current design.

You are most likely thinking of JB's article in Guns Magazine he mentioned that Nosler used the actions in their lab testing.
Dogzapper has mentioned the same here as well. IIRC he posted that one NULA action had seen over 1 million rounds.
