Incorrect. Oklahoma of today was two territories prior to statehood: Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory. Muskogee was a trading post in the Creek Nation of Indian Territory. There was a rail line through there in 1898, federal court house, various government offices, etc. Not exactly "rugged." Last land run of Oklahoma Territory was in 1893. Indian Territory didn't play host to any of that crap. "Land runs" in Oklahoma Territory were superseded by lotteries that ran through 1901.

Gun would've shipped to Muskogee, I.T., not Muskogee, Oklahoma.

And Merle Haggard was NOT from Muskogee nor has he ever resided in Muskogee or anywhere within Oklahoma.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.
