The third season starts in August, so it's not totally new, but it's called Longmire, and it's the best show I've seen in a very long time. It's based on a series of books by Craig Johnson, which I haven't read yet. I bought the first season after Amazon "suggested" it. I read some of the reviews, decided to take the gamble, and was immediately hooked on the show. I bought a DVD set for my folks (in their 70's) and they loved it too. I just finished a marathon viewing of the second season and it's even better than the first. There's further character development, and sub-plots that are carried forward.

I can't believe it's not more popular and/or better advertised. It's on the A&E channel, but since I don't have cable or dish, I just buy the DVDs at the end of the season. The cliff-hangers leading into the third season will have me viewing them one at a time online or signing up for a dish! If you're even slightly into westerns or cop shows I can't imagine you won't enjoy Longmire also. In talking with friends and acquaintances, when I mention the show, I get one of two responses; "I've never heard of it," or "I LOVE THAT SHOW." Give it a try and thank me in a week. wink

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
