I have a 338 Lapua with a 30" Rock Creek barrel and the noise is not bad with that length of tube with a brake on it.

For everyone. The exit pressure is much lower, thus the noise is also lower.



Tell that to your PH.

There's a reason a whole bunch of guides and PHs hate muzzle brakes. It's not just the noise, but the blast itself. The gd things are just terrible. If a guy needs one for a hunting rifle, he needs to be shooting a lighter recoiling package.
