Even Sarah Palin isn�t above the law in Wasilla, Alaska.

The former Alaska governor and city mayor was given a speeding ticket in her hometown last Wednesday for driving 63 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, according to TMZ. Her justification?

�I wasn�t speeding, I was qualifying,� she told the gossip website, a reference to car racing.

The former 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee also joked that it wasn�t entirely her fault because she was listening to Sammy Hagar�s �I Can�t Drive 55� on the radio while she was driving.

TMZ reported that Palin intends to promptly pay the $154 ticket.
