Redding is all I've ever used on any of Johns guns. But I measure headspace on fired brass, compare to chamber size and then adjust as needed including spacer shellholders.
You do not need a Small base die unless you possibly have machine gun brass for reloading and have to size it the first time. SAW brass supposedly, though I've never used or needed a SB die in any 223 I have had.
