So Ferguson MO is having a bit of a tiff, those around the St. Louis area are sitting in their comfy homes without fear. My two daughters and their families live in the greater St. Louis area and my cautionary calls to them to keep their eyes open and elevate their awareness seem to fall on deaf ears. It's just Dad, being his old paranoid self.

Their husbands, one a surgeon with good shooting skills, seemed almost patronizing when he accepted my advice to avoid any areas where there appeared to be crowds of people gathering unexpectedly. The other, an advanced degree scientist, gun owner and shooter could only respond, "We don't go over there very often."

Why do people feel unrest is something that only happens somewhere else? St. Louis is a tinder-box and with just the right incentive, could make Ferguson look like a birthday party.
