There was a writer a while back that wrote about nearly every scope not tracking worth a shyte out of the box, but that he did some tests with $2000 to $80 scopes, and found out the vast majority did better tracking after turning the elevation and windage dials all the way one way, then all the way the other way a few times. This helped to seat properly all of the wee parts.

I thought this was fairly well known by those who are 'in the know'. Apparently not.
