My 870 has long had swivels and a sling on it. It is a general purpose hunting gun. My model 12 riot gun will get one soon. My Beretta SP IV came with 7/8" swivels in the box, to be attached if wanted. Several saddle mount four wheeler users I know, travel to and from with shotguns slung rather than use bulky case mounts.
