Like to hear from folks who ran/run a 284 in a short action.
I know it shines in a LA like 700/clone or Tikka, but my questions is ltd to SA.
Pros/Cons. Mainly concerned w feeding and COL with bullets to 162s. Action is a Borden Alpine. Assume it is 3 in mag w/284.
What speeds can one get w/284 in 22-23" bbl?
I've had two--one in a ULA (pre-NULA), and one in M700 SA. Neither of them ever failed to feed or jammed, neither one evoked a whole lot of confidence they would fail to feed...or jam. The best way I can describe it is cycling a round from the mag was kind've of "hitchy" feeling.
