Sam, just reading the tent thread made me think about the fact that you and I probably care a lot more about water resistance than most of these guys. I was talking about breaking in a pair of boots a while back and one of the guys told me to soak them in water and wear them 'til they get dry. They don't realize that things NEVER get dry where we live.
Pat, thats a fact. I have done a LOT of camping in heavy rain. December last year, in the Ocala NF, a huge early morning thunder storm with 50 mph winds blew through my camp site. I was using my older Coleman 4 man tent, not the Eureka. About 3 AM, one of the tent poles that supports the back window awning broke, and it started to funnel gallons of water right into the tent.
Woke up afloat. Geez what a mess.
