Congratulations on the fine trophy!
I had a close encounter of the Wolf kind on a recent back country archery Elk Hunting trip.
The lone Wolf I heard/saw was a pure black adult.
I heard it bark (not howl) and then turned my gaze towards where the sound came from and there was the Wolf trotting along with its nose to the ground.
It passed by me at about 250 yards and did not respond to my cow Elk calls.
Again congratulations to you on the great Hunting accomplishment.
